Women shouldn’t have to sacrifice or minimise their parenting role to fulfill their career path. Nor should they have to change their intended career path, to be able to feel they are fulfilling their parenting role to their satisfaction. Unfortunately many companies employing women do not understand the intricacies of the tension between the two, and fail to provide an environment that respects these dual roles and enables women to have control over their own work and schedule.
Self doubt can be crippling and hold us back from being our best selves, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Recognising impostor syndrome is the first step in kicking its butt.
